Let’s watch Dave Spadaro attempt to defend Riley Cooper when up against Reuben Frank

Oct 10, 2013, 6:51 PM EDT

Eagles WR Riley Cooper has not had the best of seasons. That’s one way of putting it. columnist Reuben Frank has put it another way — with numbers. Let’s check some of the stats:

// Ouch.

And another from Eagles beat writer for the Inqy Jeff McLane.

source:  Rough.

Jeff Maehl has been stealing time from Cooper for Pete’s sake.

So it was kind of fun to see Dave Spadaro — he of employment — attempt to defend Cooper when Reuben started to lay into him on Philly Sports Talk Live this evening.

Michael Barkann’s reaction is pretty good.

    This is hardly “laying into him”…I was hoping for a good 2-minute exasperated shout-fest…but nice link regardless…I’d known Cooper was coming up small but good re-links to his nfl comparisons. cheers.

    Coopers been open numerous times but due to Vicks tunnel-vision there is lack of opportunity. What is Coopers stat on drops/attempts?

    Riley Cooper is awful and should/would have been cut had Maclin not been hurt. Not on the racist incident, but on merit.

    Real issue is, when Maclin was hurt, was there no one available somewhere with the ability to put any separation between them and the defender? Is no one like that available now? Falcons have already worked out recievers in the wake of Julio Jones’s injury- you trying to tell me those guys aren’t better than Riley Cooper?

    Cooper on the other side of DJacc will be the achilles heel of the offense all season.
