Snowballs fly in Washington, Baltimore — classless Philadelphia Eagles fans likely to blame

In the pantheon of overblown/overdone/dead horse beaten things in Philadelphia sports, “they threw snowballs at Santa” is right up there with booing Michael Irvin and cheesesteak B-roll on national television.

So far at least, we have heard no real horror stories from today’s game at the Linc. Judging by Twitter and online reactions, everyone seemed to have a blast and kept it (relatively) clean.

Well, it turns out the troublemaking Philadelphia fans were in Baltimore for a wild Ravens-Vikings game, and in Washington for a pathetic Redskins-Chiefs matchup.

And finally, do we get odds that when ESPN shows this Adrian Peterson tweet (and they will), they’ll make a joke about Eagles fans and Santa?

Of course, it took a New York media member to stir the pot at the Eagles game.

Meanwhile, back in Philadelphia, the fans were (apparently) on their best behavior. Not that you’ll hear about that on SportsCenter.

This was toward the end of the first quarter.

#Eagles #DETvsPHI Philly fans are cheering their punter on 45+ yard punts and NOT throwing snowballs or booing Santa.— Mike Harmanos (@mikeharmanos) December 8, 2013

On The Big Lead for what it’s worth. Regarding AP’s comments : “For shame, Ravens fans, for shame. Though we must remember, Baltimore is just a quick jaunt down I-95 from those lovable snowball aficionados in Philly.”

Uuuughhh. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad. That “writer” was probably so proud of himself for that line.

Probably not hard to track down the Skins fan who threw the snowballs. It was probably both of ‘em

The strange thing about the snowballs in Washington is that they all seemed to be coming from the owners box. And they all seemed to landing right around Mike Shanahan.

So weak and lazy….That happened SO long ago they might as well make references to Pearl Harbor or the A-bomb. Oh those crazy Londoners, watch it, they might slit your throat like Jack the Ripper. UGH, we will never live that down. Worst part is, the Santa deserved it and admitted as much, if people would just do some research.
