When I heard that the Eagles' newest defensive addition acquired from the Cleveland Browns, safety David Sims, was a trash man at one point on his journey to the NFL, I couldn't help but think of the cinematic classic starring Tony Danza, "The Garbage Picking Field Goal Kicking Philadelphia Phenom."

“Day-to-day, I was working with garbage,” Sims recalled. “I would go
house-to-house and dump the trash … it’s pretty humbling. It makes you
think ‘I’m not going to do this for the rest of my life. I’ve got to
have a change.’”
Whether Sims turns out to be an adequate late depth pickup remains to be seen. Seems like a guy worth pulling for though.
