Video: About That Fake Punt…

A few things of note here. 1. Chas Henry was a high school quarterback who once threw for 1,700 yards for a state championship team. 2. Colt Anderson was left completely, totally uncovered, and would have scored with ease had he caught the ball. 3. This play should have worked.

“I babied it,” Henry said of the throw. “The guy was wide open and I didn’t want to overthrow him and I babied it.”

Down by a field goal with 9:58 remaining, you could make the case for simply kicking the ball away. This is such an obvious play that was there to be made though, except as has become the norm during this nightmare season, the Eagles' players failed to execute.

This team is not clutch, and that's all there is to it.
