Video: DeSean Jackson takes preemptive measures to avoid Philly on Philly booing

Nov 11, 2013, 12:14 PM EDT

source: The Eagles offense looked pretty solid on Sunday in their victory in Green Bay. DeSean Jackson and Riley Cooper were once again recipients of long touchdown passes from Nick Foles and everybody should be happy after the game, right?

[GIF: DeSean Jackson's 55-yard TD with a lucky bounce, swagger through the roof]

The questioning in the locker room directed at DJacc turned to the topic of this coming Sunday’s game at the Linc against the Redskins. And just as a refresher, the Eagles haven’t won a game on their home turf in front of their loyal fans in over a year.

So what do the Eagles have to do to at home to turn things around? DeSean:

“Gotta get it going, get it back in the swing of things at home. We deserve it, our fans deserve it. Hopefully we can collect something together, figure it out and win in front of our home fans. Gotta be supported by everybody. Can’t be coming into the game first quarter and getting boos and that type of stuff. You’ve just got to work with us. I think as long as everybody is doing their job we’ll be alright.”

Nothing outlandish in that statement to me, BUT, I will say telling an Eagles fan not to boo is a surefire way to get him to do just that.

Now, given the analysts of former Eagle Brian Westbrook, Ray Didinger, and Ed Rendell — which two of those three would you think provided the voice of reason? Pretty great clip below.

Brian Westbrook hits the nail directly on the head. If you want fans to cheer, give them something to cheer about. Then Ray Diddy seems downright offended.

Love the unearned praise for other fan bases when Eddie starts comparing. Chiefs cheered their own QB’s injury last season, but we don’t remember that. Aaron Rodgers actually got booed in Green Bay in his first season post-favre, the home of the most “loyal” fans. Not sure what else Eagles fans need to do to prove their loyalty. We’ve been watchin’ slop for years, yet the fans still treat Sunday Morning like a big damn party because they’re so excited for football. The booing isn’t hateful, it’s just a reminder to maybe play a little harder especially for rivalry games like Cowboys, Giants. No rivals should come in and dance on your heads. DeSean is the only non-QB i’ve ever seen slide to give himself up and that was only a few weeks ago. I’d boo that.

Word, dub. Did Eddie not notice any of the million replays of fans’ reaction to Schaub going down just 3 weeks ago? WTH man?

October two thousand and freaking 12 is the Eagles last home win. DeSean should be grateful that 69000 show up

Give the fans something to cheer and they will. Keep playing like crap at home and you get boos. Its been like that since the birth of Philly sports. Its not gonna change Sunday.

Other crappy cities just lose interest in their crappy teams. Look at attendance figures and you’ll see teams that aren’t even close to their own % capacity (8 games!) like Miami, St Louis, Oakland, Pittsburgh, Yeah Pittsburgh, Tampa, etc. That doesn’t really happen with the birds. Fans know how to take their lumps. Boo or cheer, they’re in the house waitin’ for the team to get good again

Does that really make Eagles fans smarter or just loyal to a fault? How much money have Eagles fans spent to witness this crap in person over the last 13 months plus? Personally the team will never see dime one from me again until I believe in what they are doing and that’s still a long way away for me.

Ask the Phils if they would take all the booing if it meant a parade down Broad St.

Totally agree but you can see how many little hip hop fans he has that thumb you down. I remember the last time I went to training camp. Jackson even acted like a punk during drills. He would always be standing off to the side from the rest of the guys and looked to be half assign it time after time. It all translated over to the field. Last week he was on the bench yawning at one point then he was ruing around trying to chest bump Chip. Just be a consistent professional and stop being such an arse. End rant

Thanks brother I thought I was the only person who felt like this. This kid id given a free pass all the time, it’s mind boggling.

I think there are lots of fans like us Doc it’s just that most of them just don’t waste their time in places like this. Ive had extra time on my hands the last few years or Im guessing I would have joined them. The majority of the people who post on the net are homers, it’s just the way it is I think.

Agreed my brother I been a fan since 1962 and seen some of the greatest players of all time for fifty cents when Vet Stadium was around free Flyers tickets in 1968/69 when they couldn’t draw flies, as well as the 76er’s have HOOPLA and of course my Eagles going 2-12 3-11 back when they played 14 games and even at Franklin field etc. I have extra time on my hands having throat cancer and had a 20 percent chance of living and thank GOD i survived it. What I don’t like are people trying to belittle me because I called Delmon Young a DELMONTE Peaches because he couldn’t even hit a peach then you get some wet dream responding with a bunch of crap.

“Little hip hop fans?” You don’t have to search hard to crack the code there.Come on, now. Has DeSean ever acted immaturely or exhibited a poor attitude over the course of his career to date? Sure. But can you really say he’s not one of the best assets on the team, or that he hasn’t brought it this year, or that he isn’t flat-out fun to watch? I feel bad for any Eagles fan who hates D-Jax. The Miracle at the New Meadowlands must have really been painful for you guys to watch.

I don’t know where Westbrook was when English class rolled around at Villanova but he definitely wasn’t there. I don’t know how guys like him get TV jobs.

How Ike Reese, and Hollis Thomas have jobs are mind boggling to me. The best was V Hebron the worse is stuttering Ed Rendell CLUELESS like Micheal Barfcan

Once again, “Ray the Insider” comes up small.

Ray dismisses the teams efforts with, “yea give em credit for gettin back to 5-5 and all that stuff, but…”. What?!! Dude the fact that THIS TEAM has scrapped back into this and saved the season is the only reason anybody is watching your sorry ass! Then to take ONE SENTENCE out of DeSean’s best attempt at a motivational ‘pleading’ that fans give them a shot this weekend, and act all put out by that?

Dude you gotta step it up. You’ve got a weak streak going on that’s far longer that any of our sports teams…..

First off screw Jackson, I’d trade him tomorrow if I had the chance. That said the best thing for this team is for Foles to continue to play well and break this godawful streak. For that reason I would withhold booing the offense for at least the first 3 1/2 quarters.

But since so many ignorant rock heads actually waste their hard earned money going to see this crap that will never happen sad to say…

Great Great Point I agree and don’t forget paying for the preseason games or you can’t get season tickets another scam by the NFL. This is the biggest FRAUD sport in the world. and they make over 10 BILLION a year.
