Claude Giroux is still not going to the Olympics

Team Canada announced the Olympics replacement for Steven Stamkos this morning and it was not Flyers Captain Claude Giroux. Instead, Steve Yzerman decided to go with right winger Martin St. Louis.

That Giroux was left off the team yet again is not overly surprising, though he certainly made a strong case since the initial snub. What I did find interesting was Claude's approach to the possibility.

"I didn't give myself hope," Giroux said. "I didn't want to be disappointed again. It's unfortunate for Steven, he worked hard to come back and wanted to try to make the team and try to play. It's too bad to for him."

He's really learned from us Philly sports fans. Don't even hope.
