Eric Lindros' Favorite Philly Memory? The Spectrum in the Playoffs

Share

Eric Lindros was in town on Thursday night to get inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. He shared some of his thoughts on the current NHL lockout and also reflected back on some of his favorite Philly memories. Not surprisingly, they involved America's Showplace.

Lisa Hilary asked him for his fondest memory as a member of the Flyers in the above video.

“I’m kind of dating myself here but the old Spectrum, I’ll never
forget my first playoff game there [against the Rangers],” Lindros said.
“It was so loud for 3½ hours, you could not talk to anybody [at bench
level]. “It was that intense. A terrific advantage for us and a bit of a jungle for the opposing team. Great times.”

I think it's safe to say Philly fans miss both Lindros and the Spectrum -- and yes, hockey in general.

It's also good to hear that Big E is still banging the puck around with the guys a couple of times a week.

Also honored last night were Doug Collins, Wali Jones, and Mike Piazza, among others.

Flyers beat man Tim Panaccio has more from Big E and last night's events.
