Flyers Team Up with StubHub as Official Reseller

Online ticket resellers are both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, they allow people with little to no interest in a particular event to buy up tickets and resell them to make a profit. And on the other hand, they allow you to get in to almost any game or event you really want to as long as you're willing to spend big bucks.

Many teams have tried to form their own marketplace to allow season ticket holders to resell tickets to games they can't attend, trying to make it as easy as possible. The Flyers had their own marketplace, but are now teaming up with StubHub to handle resales.

From MarketWatch:

StubHub,
the world's largest ticket marketplace, announced today that it has been
named the Official Fan to Fan Ticket Marketplace of the Philadelphia
Flyers and the Wells Fargo Center. With this designation, hockey fans --
and anyone looking to attend an event at the Wells Fargo Center -- will
be able to buy and sell tickets safely and conveniently, thanks to
integrated cancel/reissue barcode technology provided by StubHub and
Paciolan, an industry-leading provider of ticketing, marketing and
fundraising solutions to more than 500 live entertainment organizations.
Both Paciolan and the Flyers are subsidiaries of the international
sports and entertainment firm, Comcast-Spectacor.

Love them or hate them, StubHub is clearly the most recognizable brand in the reseller industry and fans feel like they can trust their website when spending big bucks on tickets.
