Ilya Bryzgalov Set to Debut on Philly Ice

Although last night's 4-0 win over the Maple Leafs was a satisfying start to the Flyers' preseason action, and we were all happy to see Bob notch a shutout, the most heralded new Flyer was not on the ice. In tonight's rematch, we'll get the opportunity to see Ilya Bryzgalov between the pipes and wearing the Orange & Black for the first time.

Lavvy says Bryzgalov will go the full 60 tonight, as Bob did last night. He is backed up by Jason Bacashihua. The Flyers lineup will look decidedly different than last night as well. Tonight's lines as provided by the Flyers below.

GOALTENDING
Ilya Bryzgalov - starter
Johan Backlund

FORWARDS
Andreas Nodl, Danny Briere, Jakub Voracek
Scott Hartnell, Claude Giroux, Tomas Hyka
Max Talbot, Brayden Schenn, Matt Read
Jody Shelley, Blair Betts, Ben Holmstrom

DEFENSE
Kimmo Timonen
Erik Gustafsson

Oskars Bartulis
Braydon Coburn

Kevin Marshall
Andrej Meszaros

As you can see, there's not a lot of similarity to last night's lines, with only a few guys double-dipping. The Maple Leafs will be doing much of the same, including sitting their top line of Tim Connolly, Phil Kessel, and Joffrey Lupul.

Notably absent for the Flyers is Sean Couturier, who celebrated last night's 1 G, 1 A performance by agreeing to terms with the Flyers on an entry level contract that will pay him the rookie maximum. [More here]

JVR also gets the night off, but we'll get to see a more complete representation of the veteran forwards than last night, as well as Max Talbot for the first time.

The spotlight at the Wells Fargo Center is all yours, Illy. I'm pretty sure you've heard what the expectations are, but if not, just do what Bob did last night and you'll be fine.
