Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory of the Skating of Giroux

It may not mean he's close to returning just yet, but Claude Giroux is at least skating with the Flyers in Colorado this afternoon. The team posted this pic of him donning the yellow non-contact gear, which is quite a relieving sight even if we don't yet know what it means for his return to game play.

After concussions, players often experience recurrence of symptoms during skates just like this one, so it's not quite time to celebrate yet. Still, after losing Chris Pronger for the foreseeable future, we'll take any positives we can get with Giroux.

Some video below.

Of course, there's also no sense in rushing things. Taaaake your time with this one, everyone involved.

It's December, and as much as we may love to watch it any time of year, much of the NHL season is merely a battle of attrition in which a team need only accumulate enough points to make the playoffs. Lately, the Flyers are losing that battle despite amassing enough points to be more than on pace to play in the postseason.

Update: Also via the Flyers, here's video of G skating...
