Snapshots: Flyers draw even in series with Rangers

The best part about Game 1 of the Philadelphia Flyers’ first-round playoff series with the New York Rangers is it was only one game. The orange and black wiped the slate clean for Game 2, a much more complete all-around effort leading to a 4-2 victory at Madison Square Garden to knot the best-of-seven at one apiece.

Philly fell behind 2-0 in the opening nine minutes, but steadily outworked their rival the rest of the way. Ray Emery was calm and solid, stopping 31 of 33 shots, while Jakub Voracek, Jason Akeson (PPG), Luke Schenn and Wayne Simmonds (PPG - EN) scored four unanswered goals to put the Rangers away. It was the Flyers’ first win at MSG since February 20, 2011.

The series resumes on Tuesday at the Wells Fargo Center. More to come on the game and series, but in the meantime, here are some great shots of Game 2 from Associated Press photographer Kathy Willens.
