Stunning photos and video of agonizing Brayden Schenn fight

The Flyers wrapped up their preseason on Friday night with a slobberknocker in our nation’s capital. The Washington Capitals won the game 6-3, but the result was more of an afterthought than usual for a game of ice hockey in September.

Zac Rinaldo was ejected midway through the third first period for elbowing Caps center Mikhail Grabovski, then as the five-minute power play was winding down, the brawling began. In all, the affair featured five fights with Scott Hartnell, Wayne Simmonds, and Alex Adam Hall (twice) among the Flyers jumping into the fray.

None went worse for Philly than that first dustup though between Brayden Schenn and Tom Wilson, Washington’s 2012 first-round draft pick. The 19-year-old winger jumped all over Schenn early and simply would not relent until he had pummeled Schenn into submission. Brutal.

US Presswire photographer Geoff Burke captured some amazing shots of the fisticuffs, although it’s safe to say he did not catch Schenn’s good side here. The preseason didn’t catch the Flyers’ good side either, as the loss rounds out their record at 1-5-1 in exhibition games. Meaningless? You be the judge.

And ouch. Mark your calendars: the Capitals will be in Philly on November 1.
