Video: Flyers Michael Raffl gets stoned on ridiculous open net save of the season candidate

The Flyers ended up losing to the Nashville Predators in extra shootout goals. That always sucks. Especially when it looked like B. Schenn or Cooter may have iced it for you. Alas, they come away with one point.

It was pretty damn entertaining game by all accounts however and those who tuned in witnessed one of the more ridiculous saves of the season from any goaltender in the NHL.

Michael Raffl found himself with the puck and what looked like a wide open net with Nashville’s Carter Hutton caught out of position all the way behind the net.

But then, somehow, Raffl puts the puck on the only side of the net Hutton could miraculously dive in front to make the stop. Impressive.

The Escort gives Nashville a goal by taking one of the dumbest penalties ever seen.

Kimmo fucking Timonen needs to get as far away from this team as possible.

Shut up idiot. Timonen took an atrocious penalty while the Preds were already on a power play thus giving them a 5 on 3 advantage and the goal.

The Escort. Always willing to help out the other team in any way he can.

Dude, you’re nit-picking a Timonen give-away. There’s about 13 guys on this club that commit stupid, lackadasical plays each and every game. Personally, I cringed each time a shooter went out there on the shootout knowing they couldn’t find a way to score a game winner over a moderate goalie.

Last time I checked, this is team game. Timonen is not the reason this team can’t separate themselves from six other teams in the standings.

Doesn’t anyone watch the games here? It wasn’t a give-away genius he checked a player into the boards from behind illegally. It was dirty, nasty hit that should not have occurred. While Nashville was already on a power play.

Timonen is a HUGE factor on why this team can’t separate itself from six other teams in the standings. HUGE.

If you want proof of that, then take a look back at the end of last season, when the Flyers sat him for the final games of the season. It was no coincidence that they looked the best they did all season during those games played without Timonen.

He is a GIGANTIC detriment to this team. Gigantic.

Legwand makes an absolutely great play on there too. He got called for a penalty, but he gets just enough of Raffl’s stick. Legwand gets a lot of credit for not giving up.

    THE ESCORT STRIKES AGAIN!

Down 1-0 to the Islanders the Flyers draw a power play and promptly give up their league leading 8th short handed goal courtesy of busted coverage by The Escort and Captain Invisible.

Amazingly, The Escort has been involved in almost every single short handed goal given up by the Flyers the past two seasons. 9 last year and 8 so far this one.

The Escort…….just go the fuck away grandpop. ASAP!
