Lavoy Allen Holding a Live Auction on Twitter?

Well I guess he doesn't have to worry about amateur status. Citing a $35 Wells Fargo overdraft fee as at least partial motivation, Temple University's all-time leading rebounder and Philadelphia 76ers' second round draft pick Lavoy Allen is conducting a live auction via his Twitter feed.

Up first for sale, the No. 50 Sixers jersey he was first presented during his post-draft press conference. The bidding began at $150 and is now up to $170. We don't get the impression he's kidding, though it has been over twenty minutes since his last tweet and he's yet to declare a winner.

Today's auction comes on the heels of ESPN ranking Allen #500 on their somewhat questionable (wholly fraudulent) list of best NBA players No. 1 through 500. Ouch.

Head on over to @BroadStBully24 immediately to get in on the bidding. Though this seems like some highly-out-of-character behavior for the normally reserved big man, we are in a lockout. Just over a month ago, Dick Jerardi reported that, until the NBA is back in business, Allen has agreed to a deal with a French team and will be heading abroad at the end of August. I guess he needs some spending money once he gets there. Even for NBA Draft picks, times are tough.
