The 114th playing of the Army-Navy game is scheduled for December 14th. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at Lincoln Financial Field. The 2013 game will mark the 84th time the city of Philadelphia has played host.

Those are the necessary details, and now for the uniforms. I enjoy these two notes from Nike on the inspiration behind each design:

Army’s striking white and grey uniform pays tribute to the enduring legacy of General Winfield Scott, nicknamed “Old Fuss and Feathers” for his insistence on maintaining proper military dress.

Navy’s uniform design pays tribute to the dying command of Captain James Lawrence: “Don’t Give Up the Ship.” Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry flew a flag emblazoned with the statement during the decisive Battle of Lake Erie, one of the biggest naval battles of the War of 1812.
