Photos: Lincoln Financial Field Painted Cherry, Temple’s Throwback Helmets

Sep 7, 2013, 11:41 AM EDT

Temple and Houston kick off the first game in American Athletic Conference history at Noon.

As you can see above, the Lincoln Financial Field end zones have been painted cherry and white for the occasion. “Temple” on the one side, and “Owls” on the other.

In jersey-related news, Temple is going to be wearing a different uniform combination each week this year. A Temple spokesperson said earlier this week the team would be donning a throwback look as they honor head coach Wayne Hardin. They’ve gone cherry on cherry on cherry for the home opener, with “Temple” spelled out on the helmet, rather than the “][".

Also included are shots of head coach Matt Rhule running around the field before the game. One of them is him yelling at me to take a good one.

Good pics and I like the helmets and paint job on the field. Very classy.

What’s the reason for a different uniform each game?

The coach stated he never wanted to wear a uniform more than once.

And free HGH kits for everybody who stops by the broadcast booth after following Anthony, I gained 100lbs of muscle in college, Becht on Twitter. Sounds like a good deal!

Wow, a real barn burner here. 9-6 with little time left in the second quarter. I’d rather watch the Iron Pigs.

So we should tune into an awful team getting beat by another awful team in a comference no one gives any attention.

I actually started 3 months ago and straight away was bringing home more than $75 per hour.

After listening to your phone calls about evading taxes I’ve launched a drone to kill you.

Awww, this is cute. Temple thinks they have a real football team.
