  2. Wow. Amazing Win For Boston College

    Dec 26, 2006, 2:44 AM EDT

Wow.  Perhaps the best atmosphere I’ve ever seen at a bar while watching a sporting event.  I was holed up at Porters on M Street in D.C.  Honestly, I forgot what "For Boston" sounded like.  It was amazing.  Still kind of in shock that a team I root for actually pulled one out.  Amazing victory.

  3. Tonight: No. 2 Boston College @ No. 8 V-Tech

    Dec 25, 2006, 5:21 PM EDT

Hey, I’m as shocked as anyone to see my Boston College Eagles ranked as the second best football team in the nation.  I knew they were good, but didn’t expect them to reach these Heights.  (That’s punny! for you non BC peeps) Tonight is a big game.  B.C. hasn’t really been tested by a legit…

  4. ESPN’s Sixers Preview and Us!

    Dec 25, 2006, 3:43 PM EDT

The whole world is picking the Sixers to stink this year.  My prediction: they won’t be THAT bad but yes, they will not be very good. asked us to contribute a tiny tidbit for their 2007-2008 season preview, check it out here. But hey, look at the bright side, out of 10 people there…

  5. Sayonara, Tadahito

    Dec 25, 2006, 12:22 PM EDT

Jim Salisbury reports that the Phillies did ask Tadahito Iguchi (okay, his translator) about switching to 3B and signing with the Phillies for 2008 and beyond, but that Iguchi wants to remain a second basemen. Iguchi was a great pickup by Pat Gillick and was amazing filling in for Chase Utley, and thereafter as a…

  6. WATN: Corey Simon Set to Retire

    Dec 25, 2006, 11:40 AM EDT

The odd career of former Eagle Corey Simon will reportedly come to an end today, with news out of Tennessee that he’ll retire. Simon was a helluvan Eagle from 2000 to 2005, playing in the Eagles’ 4 NFC Championship games and one Super Bowl over that run. In 2003, Simon was a Pro Bowler. After…

  7. It’s Always Sunny in South Florida

    Dec 25, 2006, 9:40 AM EDT

Okay so that wasn’t quite the start to the road trip we were hoping for. The Flyers got downed by the Panthers 4-3 last night, but there were some highlights and encouraging trends continuing despite the loss. Joffrey Lupol kept his hot streak going with a goal and an assist, giving him 6 points in…

  8. Wait, Mike Schmidt Writes for the AP?

    Dec 24, 2006, 8:49 PM EDT

What’s the deal with Michael Jack writing for the AP about replay or the lack thereof in baseball? []

  9. Eagles to Face QB They Didn’t Find Worthy of Holding a Clip Board

    Dec 24, 2006, 6:10 PM EDT

In the deal that brought LB Takeo Spikes to Philadelphia, the Birds also received journeymen QB Kelly Holcomb as a throw in.  With A.J. Feeley already in place as the backup and the recent high draft choice of Kevin Kolb, it didn’t seem like the Eagles had a spot for Holcomb.  Turns out, they didn’t. …

  10. Iverson’s Main Line Mansion Still Unsold

    Dec 24, 2006, 2:13 PM EDT

A.I. hasn’t been able to unload his mansion in Villanova which is now going for a cool $6.2 million.  If I had 495 more pairs of shoes and 6.1999 more millions of dollars, I’d think about it. [the Real Estalker via Philebrity]

  11. Brian Dawkins Return This Season Still Up in the Air

    Dec 24, 2006, 12:34 PM EDT

Some quotes from Dawkins radio show on Monday night. "The game I play is violent, and I play it at a certain level.  I don’t want to go in and do something to my neck in that region that is going to have this thing reoccur again, and I’m right back on the shelf again.…

  12. Road Trip From Hell Will Test Flyers Mettle

    Dec 24, 2006, 10:22 AM EDT

With the Phils getting swept by the Lord’s team, the Eagles looking god-awful, and the Sixers predestined to be god-forsaken, the only solace for us 4-for-4 fans is the Orange and Black’s fast start and promising season. After dropping only one game on a tough Western Canada road trip to start the campaign, the Flyers…
