  1. If The Eagles Can’t Beat The Vikings…

    Dec 28, 2006, 6:29 AM EDT

It’s the battle of 2-4 teams today in Minnesota.  If the Birds can’t get a win against former Eagles coach Brad Childress’ squad then this season is heading straight into the shitter.  Fret not, because while Les Bowen picks the Eagles to lose, a Madden simulation has the Birds winning by a touchdown.  Computers never…

  2. Flyers Continue to Play the Bully Role in Win at the Garden

    Dec 27, 2006, 7:00 PM EDT

The Flyers got their first win on their current road trip, beating the Bruins by a final of 2 to 1 in an exciting game.  Marty Biron played a great game in net and Mike Richards and Lupol were successful in putting the biscuit in the basket. All wasn’t chipper for the Flyers though as…

  3. Sean Considine Latest to Catch Injury Bug

    Dec 26, 2006, 4:23 PM EDT

Sean Considine injured his ankle in practice on Thursday.  We thought for sure Muhsin Muhammad had broken it clean last Sunday. Considine should be ready to go against the Vikes. [Inqy]

  4. As if Penn State Needed More Motivation

    Dec 26, 2006, 3:03 PM EDT

It’s one thing to talk trash about a school’s football team, their women, their lack of academic standards.  It’s another thing entirely to deface JoePa. Graffiti was found this morning on a homemade Paternoville sign attached to the rock in the center of Gate A at Beaver Stadium. The white sheet, lettered in blue tape…

  5. Free Darko’s Look at Andre Iguodala

    Dec 26, 2006, 2:02 PM EDT

The fine people of Free Darko remind Sixers fans of an important fact they often forget.  While I’m not sure what the hell they’re talking about half the time, FD points out that while the Sixers surely will suck, man, that Andre Iguodala will sure be fun to watch. Rivers of Yuengling, delish. [Deadspin]

  6. Moyer: It’s Not About Age

    Dec 26, 2006, 12:00 PM EDT

When the Phils first resigned Jamie Moyers, we were a bit skeptical.  We’ve come to appreciate the man a whole lot more since then.  Partly for his performance on the field and more so for his attitude and wisdom. "At some point, maybe it’s next year, maybe it’s two years down the road, I’ll go…

  7. Vegas Knows About Your Homerism, Philadelphia.

    Dec 26, 2006, 10:06 AM EDT

It’s Week 8 in the NFL, and the 2-4 Eagles are the favorite for the seventh time in seven games this season. It’s even an away game in a raucous dome filled with crazy fans against a team that’s showing signs of life and has one of the hottest running backs in the league. Obviously…

  8. Highlights of BC @ VTech

I still can’t believe that all happened.

  9. Wow. Amazing Win For Boston College

    Dec 26, 2006, 2:44 AM EDT

Wow.  Perhaps the best atmosphere I’ve ever seen at a bar while watching a sporting event.  I was holed up at Porters on M Street in D.C.  Honestly, I forgot what "For Boston" sounded like.  It was amazing.  Still kind of in shock that a team I root for actually pulled one out.  Amazing victory.

  10. Tonight: No. 2 Boston College @ No. 8 V-Tech

    Dec 25, 2006, 5:21 PM EDT

Hey, I’m as shocked as anyone to see my Boston College Eagles ranked as the second best football team in the nation.  I knew they were good, but didn’t expect them to reach these Heights.  (That’s punny! for you non BC peeps) Tonight is a big game.  B.C. hasn’t really been tested by a legit…

  11. ESPN’s Sixers Preview and Us!

    Dec 25, 2006, 3:43 PM EDT

The whole world is picking the Sixers to stink this year.  My prediction: they won’t be THAT bad but yes, they will not be very good. asked us to contribute a tiny tidbit for their 2007-2008 season preview, check it out here. But hey, look at the bright side, out of 10 people there…

  12. Sayonara, Tadahito

    Dec 25, 2006, 12:22 PM EDT

Jim Salisbury reports that the Phillies did ask Tadahito Iguchi (okay, his translator) about switching to 3B and signing with the Phillies for 2008 and beyond, but that Iguchi wants to remain a second basemen. Iguchi was a great pickup by Pat Gillick and was amazing filling in for Chase Utley, and thereafter as a…
