The do-or-die series with the Atlanta Braves hasn't been pretty for the Phillies, who are now on the verge of becoming sellers after a pair of ugly losses. They'll attempt to pick themselves up off the mat today in the hopes of avoiding a sweep, but whatever long odds the Phils had of reaching the postseason took another brutal shot over the weekend.
Roy Halladay (4-5, 4.32) takes on Tim Hudson (9-4, 3.71) in the finale before the Fightins make their way back north for a showdown in Washington. Hunter Pence has the day off in right field and is replaced by Laynce Nix, while Kevin Frandsen gets his first start in a Phillies uniform over at third base.
