Utley and Rollins Back in the Lineup With Kyle Kendrick On the Hill

Jun 9, 2011, 4:34 PM EDT

The Phillies take on the Cubs this evening with Kyle Kendrick on the mound. Jimmy Rollins returns to the lineup after resting his bruised knee and Chase Utley is back after an off day on Wednesday.

After going with a middle infield of Wilson Valdez and Michael Martinez last night, the Phillies will get a bit of an upgrade this evening as Jimmy Rollins returns to the starting lineup after resting his bruised knee for a few days and Chase Utley is once again penciled in at second base after Charlie Manuel gave him an off day on Wednesday.

Kyle Kendrick (3-4, 3.78) will take on the Cubs right-hander Randy Wells (1-1, 5.74) tonight at Citizens Bank Park to kick off a weekend-long four game set with the Cubbies. The Phillies have a 60-28 record at home against NL Central tems since the 2007 season started, so hopefully they can keep that pretty winning percentage going this weekend.

The Cubs are coming off a big win for them yesterday, which snapped a season-high eight game losing streak.

For more on the current state of the Cubs, check out our Q&A with ESPNChicago’s Jon Greenberg or listen to Sully preview the series to the right there.

As for tonight, Dane Sardinha will catch and Dom Brown will play right.

First pitch scheduled for 7:05. Dress scantily. It’s gross out there.
