Citizens Bank Park withstood the earthquake felt throughout the East Coast today and the Phillies announced tonight’s game will be played as scheduled.

For a team coming off a wonderful 10-0 victory last night against the Mets, the Phillies sure brought a whole bunch of less-than-great news to our attention this afternoon. Raul Ibanez’s groin needs some rest, and Charie says he likely needs a few days, which means you won’t see him until this weekend at the earliest. Cole Hamels hit the 15-day DL, which shouldn’t be too alarming, as Rich Dubee said he wanted to give Cole a little rest and set up his rotation of Oswalt (Fri), Halladay (Sat), Lee (Sun), and Colbert (Mon).

Toss in Ryan Howard battling bursitis in the heel/Achilles area and Jose Contreras being done for the season and the Phillies start looking pretty banged up.

Tonight’s matchup will put Vance Worley (8-1, 2.76) up against left-hander Jonathon Niese (11-10, 4.05) as the Phils look to take yet another serried over the Mets.

First pitch scheduled for 7:05.
