You Can Now Dust Off that Mike Stutes Shirsey

A couple of quick Phillies notes on their off day:

The team has recalled right-handed reliever Mike Stutes to fill the void left by Phillippe Aumont getting optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Aside from being the only current Phillies player I happen to own a shirsey of, Stutes has been pitching wonderfully down with the IronPigs. Matt Gelb on his recent performance:

The 26-year-old righty has a 0.59 ERA in his last 11 outings (15 1/3 innings) at triple A. Two years ago, he emerged as a trusted arm in Manuel's bullpen.

Stutes had shoulder surgery last summer and the team wanted him to accumulate more innings in the minors as he recovered. The results are there [...]

Also of note, Carlos Zambrano had another nice outing down in an extended spring training game with the folks in Clearwater: vs Pirates at Carpenter Complex in CLE: 4.0 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 SO, 64 pitches.

Could be a solid spot starter in the making should Tyler Cloyd or Jonathan Pettibone stumble.
