The USMNT played great soccer for most of the night against Jamaica in Columbus, Ohio on Tuesday night but didn't have a tally to show for it into the second half. That all changed when Herculez Gomez hit a beautiful strike off a set piece from 25 yards out that found the back of the net and helped the U.S. on to a 1-0 victory and get their World Cup qualifying effort back on track.
NBC Sports's Steve Davis called Gomez's goal "probably the biggest U.S. goal since Landon Donovan's late strike against Algeria in the 2010 World Cup."
