A Quick Cap Rundown Following This Morning's Sixers Moves

So much for that quiet Sixers offseason.

The team has amnestied Elton Brand and agreed to a one-year deal in principle with shooting guard Nick Young, a source has confirmed to CSNPhilly.com's John Finger.

Young's agent, Mark Barelstein, tells Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski the deal is worth $6 million.

ESPN's John Hollinger reported soon after that the Young deal would not have been cap-legal without amnestying Brand.

Lou Williams has also tweeted
he isn't coming back.

With Brand's $18 million off the books, the Sixers now have 10 men on the roster, or will come July 11, when this signing, the extensions to Hawes and Allen, and the amnesty of Brand becomes official. Finger reports the Sixers have $36 million marked for those 10. The cap is $58 million. The salary floor is $49.3 million.

You don't amnesty Elton Brand just to sign Nick Young. And with $13 million left just to get back to the floor, and $22 million in space under the cap, more is coming.
