Braves @ Phils Game 3: Myers Needs to Bounce Back

Share

The Phillie Phanatic may be without his ammo this evening but Brett Myers is going to need to bring his heat to get the Phils back on the winning track heading into the final weekend series of the regular season.

In case you missed the news earlier, there were a few suspicious packages found outside of Citizen Bank Park earlier this evening. Turns out, they were just a bunch of hotdogs, "'It appears they're the same hot dogs the Phanatic uses to shoot into the crowd,' one investigator said."

The Phils, as they too often do when Cole pitches, couldn't generate runs last night. With the Phils being idle tomorrow, they'll have to sit at home and watch the Mets play. A win tonight would certainly make that off day a bit more relaxing.

Ryan Howard says it's no time to panic after last night's loss and I completely agree. Go out there, score some runs early and allow Brett Myers to do his thing. The Marlins got to Brett early (and often) in his last start, but he says he felt fine. Hopefully he can correct those mistakes and come out with guns blazing tonight. I think fans expect Brett to bring it tonight in a playoff-like atmosphere at CBP.

The bats will face Jo-Jo Reyes who has struggled this season going 3-11 with a 5.74 ERA.

With four games left on their schedule the Phils stand 1.5 up on the Mets who face the Cubs tonight at Shea.
