Dare to Dream: Sixers Go for Third in a Row Against Knicks

Share

Shocking to believe, I know, but with all their many wins so far this season, the Sixers have yet to string together three consecutive Ws in '09-'10, with two in a row being enough of an accomplishment so far. They get about as good a chance as they're likely to get this season for the hat trick, however, as they face the New York Knicks at the Wachovia Center. The Knicks come in losers of two straight, but have generally been playing better this season, currently only a game and a half out of the playoffs in the less-than-stacked Eastern Conference. Still, the Sixers have had the Knicks' number as of late, sweeping last year's season series and taking six straight in all, including an OT contest earlier this season.

The story of tonight will almost definitely be Samuel Dalembert, whose dangerously-close-to-inspired play as of late has helped key the last couple Sixers wins, but whose mind will almost certainly be on other things tonight, as he continues to get news from back home in the recently earthquake-struck Haiti. Rebounding will be a big factor against the chuck-happy Knicks, so Sammy not playing or playing distracted would be a big detriment to the team. Both Sammy and the arthritic AI look to be in tonight's starting line-up, however.

Tip imminent from the Wach. NBA TV thinks we can build on Monday's win against the Hornets, and they're never wrong about anything, right?
