Dropping Like Flies: Hobbs To IR, Hanson Suspended

The Birds can't catch a break this season when it comes to injuries. Ellis Hobbs is the latest to go down, and Andy Reid announced today he'll miss the remainder of the season after having neck surgery.

It's not a major loss initially. Update: Geoff Mosher of The Delaware News Journal is reporting Joselio Hanson will miss a month for an "unspecified reason," which obviously makes matters worse. Update 2: It's a four game suspension for taking a banned substance. PFT has more.

Hobbs wasn't taking anybody's job, but he gave the team very solid depth one through four at corner. With the exception of a fumble against the Saints, he also did a nice job returning kicks, but is replaceable. Considering the number or players who have missed time though, specifically at linebacker and in the secondary, it's becoming a bit much to handle.

The Eagles picked up CB Ramzee Robinson (?) to replace Hobbs, and Jack Ikegwuonu was elevated from the practice squad to replace Hanson.
