Flyers Play of the Game: Giroux Goes Airborn, Top Shelf

Share

Last night's Flyers loss was a tough one. They started out with an early lead and led most of the way behind Bob's impressive net minding. Then Bob stumbled a bit, including letting one awfully soft looking shot in. All of a sudden they found themselves down a goal as time was running out and Peter Laviolette pulled his goalie. That's when Claude Giroux pulled off one of those "Wow!" moves that we've become accustomed to him making. [video below]

Giroux's first shot attempt is thwarted, but he attacks the rebound and launches a crazy shot while his feet are being taken out from under him -- an incredibly exciting goal that sent the game into OT. Sadly, the Flyers couldn't pull it out there.

UPDATE: Okay, okay. Bob's goal was a bit of a bad bounce and *not* awfully soft.

And from a different angle at the end of these highlights.
