Flyers Play of the Game: Girouxous Finds Carter

Share

The Flyers beat the Rangers by a 4-2 count on Hockey Day in America, recovering quickly from a 1-0 first period deficit. That first tally was the prettiest of the day too.

Just a great play by Claude Giroux to hold the puck until he could find a lane, then thread one to Jeff Carter, who shot through a Scott Hartnell screen to beat Henrik Lundqvist. The impromptu line had a decent day together offensively, though they were out there for both Rags goals.

After a sleepy first period, the Flyers once again showed their second period dominance, with goals by Giroux (incidentally on a great pass from Carter) and Carcillo. Kris Versteeg netted his first as a Flyer with Henrik pulled. Full highlights after the jump.
