Freddy Garcia: We Hardly Knew Ya

Share

It looks likely that Freddy Garcia's career as a Phillie will never even come close to matching the expectations that most Philly faithful had put on the former stud pitcher.

Freddy Garcia's season is probably over. His Phillies career likely is, too.

An MRI exam on Garcia's right shoulder yesterday at Thomas Jefferson
University Hospital revealed "some pathology" of the labrum and
"fraying" of the rotator cuff, the team announced late in last night's
3-0 win over the White Sox at Citizens Bank Park.

Sure, Garcia was never pitching well for the Phillies -- pretty horrid actually -- but this will leave a hole in the rotation that will likely have to be filled by an inexperienced arm.

The usually mild mannered Jason Weitzel is rather angry at the Phillies organization for failing to do the proper due diligence on Garcia before they pulled the trigger on the deal.

Regardless of who is to blame for Garcia's horrible short stint as a Phillie, it's just another egg on the face of Phillies fans everywhere.
