FredEx has 6 Catches!

I’m a Freddie Mitchell fan, but I find the fact that 6 catches and 76 yards are his career best a little lackluster for a first round draft pick.  And whats the deal with no putting on the belt as The People’s Champ.  In a horrible, meaningless game, at least give us something to laugh at!

Freddie Mitchell established a couple of career bests yesterday, a potentially good sign for the Eagles as they prepare to go into the postseason without Terrell Owens. Both his six catches and his 76 receiving yards were career bests for Mitchell, who also accounted for the Eagles’ only touchdown with a fourth-quarter reception from quarterback Jeff Blake. It marked the second straight week that Mitchell found the end zone after going scoreless for the first 14 games of the season. "I’m just happy that I’m getting the opportunity," Mitchell said. "Of course, I always had confidence in myself. I just came to show everybody else. I came to make plays." Unlike Todd Pinkston, Mitchell played the majority of the game the last two weeks, but he did not complain about his extended role. He also has stopped celebrating after catches, including a 28-yarder in the first quarter that gave the Eagles a first down on a third-and-15 play.
