Geno Auriemma: On Top of Sports World, Only Scared of the Eagles and Phillies

Feb 22, 2010, 1:46 PM EDT

The lady ballers up at UConn surpassed John Wooden and his UCLA Bruins' record 88 straight wins by destroying FSU for the Huskies 89th straight victory. It's been a hot topic on national sports shows, and Huskie head coach Geno Aurriemma was on PTI yesterday to discuss the importance of the streak.

Asked by the PTI crew what the odds were that his UConn team would lose last night to Florida State, Auriemma jumped on the Philly Love train. "Listen, the only thing I know is I wouldn't want to play the Eagles right now, and I wouldn't want to play the Phillies next summer cause I'm from Philly. They're the only two sure things I've got going for me right now. Everything else is a coin flip," Auriemma said. [video below]

The Philly line comes at the very end of the video with about :15 left on the PTI clock. Thanks to Arkansas Fred for the tip.
