Geoff Jenkinstown, PA

Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com is reporting that the Phils and Geoff Jenkins have reached a preliminary deal to bring the outfielder to Philly. The deal is said to be for 2 years, paying Jenkins $13 million. A third year may be added if he reaches certain plate-appearance milestones.

Jenkins, with nice numbers against righties, was targeted as a complement to Jayson Werth for a decent platoon situation in right field, and he's got some nice pop in his bat, which should bode will at CBP. Hopefully the new setting will help to boost Jenkins' sinking average as well. Not being suspended to start the season is a nice touch as well, an obstacle Mike Cameron is facing when trying to find a new home.
