After a rather ho-hum outing against the hated Pittsburgh Penguins Tuesday night, the Flyers take to the road once more for a two-fer in the Sunshine State.  Tonight's host, the woe-ful Tampa Bay Lightning, find themselves still struggling after firing head co... anchor Barry Melrose and replacing him with Philly favorite and gambling man, Rick Tocchet.  The  Philly connection doesn't end there, with twice former Flyer Vaclav Prospal and temporary Flyer experiments Steve Eminger and Steve Downie skating for the Lightning.  Downie was recalled from Norfolk after having success at the minor league level where he scored 9 goals and 32 pts in 22 games, earning him a spot on the AHL Canadian All-Star roster.

The Flyers look to rebound from Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Penguins, a setback that handed the Flyers just their 2nd regulation loss on home ice this season.  Highlights were few, with the only Philly positives coming in the form of a Lupul (one of the Flyers more inconsistent scorers) goal and the lack of any major injury.  Philadelphia will be without Danny Briere for at least one more game as he recovers from a severe groin tear.  Briere scored a short handed goal and added a power play assist in his first game of a two game conditioning assignment with the Philadelphia Phantoms.  Claude Giroux, victim of an errant elbow from the Ducks' Corey Perry, will return tonight after a 5 game hiatus with post concussion symptoms.
Notes: The Flyers added a new wrinkle to practice with the hopes of improving their success in the shootout.  The team has lost 5 of 6 decisions so far this year and are 28th in the NHL in shootout percentage. (18.2%)  Around the NHL, Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was injured while attempting a check in the final mintues of a 6-3 loss to the Washington Caps. (yay)  He is listed day to day.
