With no meaningful games on the schedule for the week and people increasingly tossing player names into the trade blender, let's waste some Friday time looking at a somewhat unlikely but fun possibility. If the Flyers could trade for any former member of the franchise who is still currently playing in the NHL, who would you add to the current team?
There are a few Former Flyer Flyer Killers still skating around in other sweaters, plus a few cap casualties from seasons past. One of the centers lost in one of the deepest groups of C's I've ever seen? A gritty, playoff-tested former hero at wing? A tough guy/pest you prefer to any of our current lot? Someone who's just as good as a current Flyer, only more cap-friendly? Or would you simply stand pat with the best team in the league?
Oh, and this being a trade, you have to name which guy you'd send the other way. For the sake of the exercise, it doesn't necessarily have to be an even deal, just a one-for-one, though feel free to try to make it realistic.
