The Phils continued their recent hot streak by getting contributions all around including Joe Thurston getting his first hit in the majors since 2004. This was a big game for Myers and the Phils, the win put them only 1.5 back of the Reds. I think it is safe to say the Phils are in a playoff race.
Today's Inquirer has a fun little anecdote which took place during last nights game when Jimmy Rollins spoke up to Brett Myers:
Brett Myers had started to walk up the damp corridor from the dugout
to the visitors' clubhouse at Wrigley Field last night when he heard
Jimmy Rollins behind him."Just get the win," Rollins said before the Phillies batted in the ninth. "Let somebody get the save."
