Mayor Nutter Is A Proponent Of Small Ball

Share

Mayor Michael Nutter appeared on John King's State of the Union program Sunday morning on CNN discussing the effects the economic stimulus package will have in creating green jobs in Philadelphia. Nutter takes a page out of Governor Rendell's playbook and uses a sports analogy showing his respect of the National League's penchant for small ball:

"We don't necessarily live in an environment where you can just swing
for the fences and you're looking for the 2,000-person job
opportunity," Nutter told CNN in an interview at the Philadelphia Navy
Yard, which is now an economic development zone trying to attract new
industry. "I think singles, doubles, triples move people around the
bases as well."

Maybe Nutter can be one of Cholly's bench coaches this season and help advise Jimmy, Shane, Chase and the boys that the hit and run is a beautiful thing.

In Philadelphia, the mayor knows his baseball. (Even if he can't play it real well)
