Michael Carter-Williams leads all rookies in jersey sales, 15th among all NBA players

source: The Sixers are not a very good basketball team. In fact, they are rather bad.

It’s also typically assumed that their fanbase is weak and unsupported when times are tough as judged by some low attendance numbers.

But how about this shocker…

The league released jersey sales numbers for October through December and get this: Michael Carter-Williams leads all rookies and is even 15th out of all NBA players.

Obviously, MCW’s red hot start had a ton to do with this. Savvy NBA fans getting in on the ground floor of the MCW wagon that looks destined for stardom.

After missing the past couple of weeks with knee issues, Cater-Williams could return to action tomorrow night against the Nets.

Here’s the full list of guys ahead of Carter Williams:

1.      LeBron James, Miami HEAT

2.      Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers

3.      Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls

4.      Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder

5.      Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks

6.      Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

7.      Dwyane Wade, Miami HEAT

8.      Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers

9.      Kyrie Irving, Cleveland Cavaliers

10.    Blake Griffin, Los Angeles Clippers

11.    Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder

12.    James Harden, Houston Rockets

Real surprising to me he’s outsold Dwight Howard, you’d think a big name guy on a new team would be at the top of this list. Also surprised no one from Brooklyn made top 15, you’d think collectors would be into the KG/Pierce ones, maybe they haven’t taken as much NYC turf/consumers as I thought they would. I guess everyone still has a D-Will that’s only a couple years old, though.

    Anyway, very shocking, congrats MCW.
