On the Landing in the Summer: Wilco

Share

Wilco is awesome.  I was at the show last night on Penn's Landings' Festival Pier.  Awesome venue location, but it is basically like seeing a concert in a parking lot, but with a great view.  This was the second time I saw Wilco live, the first being on New Years Eve at Madison Square Garden in New York city when the Flaming Lips opened for them.  Tonight's opener was My Morning Jacket.  They were cool.  I'm not going to review the show, but it was really great.

If you are not familiar with Wilco, take a listen to Heavy Metal Drummer which conveniently contains the title of my post.  I just found a whole show of theirs up on Glide magazines website for download here.

I think if I had the choice to see any band out there right now play a show I would either choose Wilco or Radiohead.  I've actually heard Wilco referred to once as America's Radiohead.

I pretty much love everything off of A Ghost is Born and they played certain favorites such as Theologians, Spiders (Kidsmoke), I'm a Wheel, Muzzle of Bees, and The Late Greats among others.

Kick ass show.  Wilco Rocks.
