Phillies Injury News of the Day: Polanco

Share

Placido Polanco left this afternoon's game against the Toronto Blue Jays down in Dunedin, Florida and was replaced by Wilson Valdez at third base. Scott Franzke and Chris Wheeler mentioned on the radio broadcast that Polanco appeared to show discomfort after a swing during his at bat in the first inning. The Phillies have said Polly left with a hyper extended left elbow and that removing him from the game was just precautionary.

As ball scribe John Finger mentioned, amputation is not expected, and it is not the same area as Polly's past surgery. But really, could we go a day or two without some injury news in this town?

In more encouraging news, Raul Ibanez went deep in the third inning. Good time to practice your "uuuuuuls."
