(8) Simon Gagne

Simon Gagne played 10 seasons with the Flyers, tallying 259 goals, 265 assists, and 524 points in 664 games. He also stepped up in the playoffs, with 32 goals, 15 assists, and 47 points in 90 postseason games. Gagne was immediately known as a gifted goal-scorer, notching 20 markers in his rookie campaign. Although injuries shortened several key seasons over his decade in Philadelphia, he will always be remembered positively as a great teammate and hard worker who grew his game dynamically as his career progressed by adding an impressive defensive skillset to his sniping abilities. Among Gagne’s highlights as a Flyer is his nine-goal performance in the team’s run to the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals, including the overtime winner in game four of the series against Boston, down 3-0 in the series. Gagne returned early from a toe injury to play in that game, and he would go on to score a pair of goals in game five as well, then the eventual series-winning goal in game seven, completing the team’s historic comeback. Fans were understandably upset when Gags was traded later that summer for salary cap relief, against his wishes to stay a Flyer for life. -Matt P.

(9) Seth Joyner

Whether the Eagles’ defense is having a great year or a terrible one, you can be sure it will be compared to the great Buddy Ryan units of the late 80s and early 90s. The players had talent and personality, and staying power in the hearts and minds of Philadelphia fans. Seth Joyner was a dynamic linebacker with the team from 1986-1993, with two Pro Bowl appearances and a Defensive Player of the Year runner-up acknowledgement during his time with the Birds. His #59 Kelly green uniform immediately brings visions of sacks, picks, and forced fumbles on the Vet turf. Joyner is in rare NFL company as a member of the very exclusive 20-20 club—defenders with at least 20 career sacks and interceptions. Former Eagles William Thomas and Brian Dawkins are also on the list. -Matt P.
