Phils Set to Play Two, If They Don't Melt First

Ugh. It is stupid hot outside. I may watch hours of sports in protest.

At 1:35, we'll see Joe Blanton work through the meat sweats while flipping back and forth with some NFL action. Blanton gets Dave Bush, who knows from a Delaware Valley late summer heat wave. Bush played his high school ball at Conestoga, so like Mark DiFelice yesterday, he may have some friends in the stands. If the Phils can hit him up like they did Manny Parra, he'll regret asking the traveling secretary for the freebies.

Later, we'll see (hear?) Brett Myers take the mound in a game that could potentially put them in a tie for the wild card lead. At this point in the season, every next game is the biggest so far of the season. Moyer and Hamels both stepped up in their respective starts against the Brewers, now it's time for the rest of the team to come through.

As RyHo mentioned after yesterday's game, the Phils go as Jimmy goes. Just think, if Jimmy and Chase could get it going a little bit, this team is in the playoffs.
