Phils Take Third Straight Over Nationals

While Ryan Howard helped himself inch closer to the all time strike out record for a season, the one hit he notched on Saturday night was a big one.  Howard hit a single in the top of the 10th that allowed Utley to score and put the Phils ahead.  A Werth walk followed by a Ruiz single gave the pen some insurance and Clay Condrey shut it down.

Kyle Kendrick earned the win and has earned himself a place in the hearts of Phillies fans with the way he's been throwin' it.

Another phenomenal showing by the Philadelphia fans in DC.  Philly owned RFK again on Saturday night.  See our video and thoughts from the Friday night game.

I'll be attending Cole Hamels outing tomorrow to close down RFK stadium while Matt will be cheering on the yellow and blue at the Linc.  The Mets won earlier in the day keeping the pressure on the Phils.  San Diego is in a late game with the Rockies on the West Coast.  A SD win will keep the Phils 1.5 back of the WC while a Padres loss will put the Phils within .5 games.

Big Sunday for Philadelphia.
