Some highlights:
•Shane Vic is back, and he had his best game of the season, with 2 hits and 2 runs scored.
•Pat the Bat continues to rake, smacking 2 doubles and 2 RBI.
•Jesus Chase Utley took a day off from being a god among men, at least at the plate. He still managed to get hit by a pitch, and he'll probably hit 2 homers and turn Gatorade into Grey Goose tomorrow against Max Scherzer.
•Cole Hamels was decent, but didn't have his best stuff. Ditto Tim Lincecum.
•Geoff Jenkins squeaked a grounder past Eugenio Velez to score Ryan Howard and break a 5-5 tie in the bottom of the 9th. Valez didn't get down on the ball, which should have been a fairly routine play. The big man barreled home, and stabbed his hand past catcher Steve Holm, who hadn't controlled the ball anyway.
•The win was Charlie Manuel's 500th as a manager.
