I don't really know what to make of this; it's a tad bizarre, a tad pathetic, and a tad intriguing. St. Joe's University is "adopting" the football program of Boston College (my alma mater). Best case scenario it gets BC a game at the Linc sometime in the future?
St. Joseph's University in Pennsylvania has learned that, when your school does not provide funding for a football program, there are other options: adoption. Infertile no more, the student newspaper of St. Joseph's University announced yesterday that it has chosen to adopt Boston College's football team.
Yes, it is a little weird, but flattering nonetheless. The reasoning is simple: since SJU does not have sufficient funds to start a football program from the ground up, their students have instead chosen to lend their support to one of their Jesuit counterparts.
I guess their color schemes aren't completely off, although maroon doesn't look as nice on the frumpy SJU ladies as it does on the prissy BC chicas.
