Sixers Look to Beat a Contender with Kevin Durant's OKC Thunder in Town

After beating the Warriors on Sunday and the Pacers on Tuesday, the Sixers will face a more formidable foe tonight at the Wells Fargo Center in the form of the OKC Thunder. Kevin Durant's club is currently sitting forth in the Western Conference at 39-23. Who's looking forward to watching Andre Iguodala trying to shut down the Durantula?

Not to overlook the Sixers having won seven of their last eight games, because beating any team in the NBA on any given night is never a given, but those seven wins came against Houston, Washington, Detroit, Cleveland, Minnesota, Golden State, and Indiana. Not a single one of those teams currently has a winning record.

The Sixers lone loss during that stretch came to the streaky hot Mavericks. Collins' boys held their own in that one, but showed their youth against a veteran team.

So tonight is another test akin to that Dallas game. How will the Sixers hold their own on their home turf against one of the West's best?

The Philly faithful showed on Sunday night that they're really starting to support this current Sixers team. Evan Turner loved the unexpected cheers. Tonight's matchup against one of the NBA's marquee players should put plenty of butts in the seats.
