Sixers to Unveil New Red Jerseys

Kudos to the Sixers for getting those horrible black road uniforms out of our sight, even if it's only for a few games per season.  From Sixers.com:

On Wednesday, Feb. 14,
2007, Philadelphia 76ers fans will have an opportunity to witness the
"Return of the Red," as the Sixers unveil a new second road uniform with
red as the predominant color accented by the team's other official
colors of white, blue, black, silver and gold.  This will mark the first
time the team will wear red uniforms since the 1996-97 season.

The new uniforms are made by Adidas.  I've said in the past the Sixers uniforms were poorly designed.  This new red uniform is a step in the right direction.  I'm not a jersey wearer, but if I was, I'd certainly prefer this new design with "PHILA" on the front instead of the lack luster Sixers logo -- a return to the past of sorts with "PHILA" appearing on the jerseys like they did back in the sixties and seventies.

Sixers.com also has a brief history of the Sixers jerseys.  I'm partial to the '65-'66 look which I have a retro Iverson with a similar design.
