The Philadelphia Eagles Appear to be Hypocrites

In 2005 when an arrogant and outspoken Terrell Owens scored his 100th career touchdown, the jumbotrons at the Linc showed no mention of the milestone.  This ommission triggered T.O.'s infamous mouth to lash out against the organization and pretty much led to his demise in Philly.  But not before he had this to say in a prepared statement, "I've had an opportunity to talk with the Eagles organization
and I have learned that the team does not recognize individual
achievements
.  It has been
brought to my attention that I have offended the organization and
my teammates. Therefore, I would like to apologize for any
derogatory comments toward them."

Such a heartfelt apology... and we all thought Terrell Owens was crazy.  Maybe he had a point after all.

Early in the first quarter of yesterday's win over the Buffalo Bills, Brian Westbrook surpassed Wilbert Montgomery to become the franchise leader for most yards from scrimmage in a single season -- a great individual feat.  The jumbotron promptly notified fans of the achievement which sparked a standing ovation from the crowd that was even audible on television.

So what's the moral of this story?  If you're a prima donna wideout with a big mouth, the Eagles don't recognize individual achievements.  If you're a humble, soft spoken, underpaid running back, the Eagles will at least get your name and numbers up on the jumbotron when you break some records.
