Worley in the Daytime: Phillies Continue Postseason Tune-up in Atlanta

Dec 2, 2009, 3:31 PM EDT

The fine tuning of the team on cruise control into the postseason continues this afternoon with the Phillies taking on the Braves in a matinee at Turner Field. Vance Worley (1-1, 2.25) will make his second start of the season and will take on Tommy Hanson (10-11, 3.41)

Placido Polanco returns to the lineup for the first time since receiving a cortisone shot on Wednesday in Philadelphia. A rested Polly, with less pain in his elbow, could really add a jolt to this already potent Phillies lineup.

Charlie gives Dom Brown the start in right this afternoon as the rookie looks to fight his way onto the playoff roster. Manuel has said he really likes the fact that a guy like Brown could put the ball into the stands in any given at bat. We all know what one powerful swing off the bench can do in the playoffs.

First pitch is scheduled for 4:10. The NL East champion Phillies could potentially play spoiler to the Braves playoff hopes with two more victories. Full playoff scenarios here.
