Your Saturday Extras: Halladay's 34, Phillies Media Movement, Wright's Seat, and Some Fantasy Advice

Our Clearwater trip comes to an end tonight, but before we head back outside for one last day of sun by the pool, here are some extras to tide you over.

The Birds let Jason Babin's tattoos leave the nest yesterday. He's signed on with the Titans after the Eagles declined to match their offer. Tennessee will be his fifth stop since being drafted in 2004. [Daily News]

There are a lot of great golf courses in Florida, but apparently the best place to tee off is the batter's box when Johan Santana is on the mound. Yes, I'm getting these in while I can. [New York Times]

After last night's barnburner in Clearwater, the Phils visit Detroit today. The rain earlier in the week bumped Roy Halladay's scheduled start from last night (a game we had tickets to) to today (a game we don't). Zo has the Phils lineup here: [Todd Zolecki]

We linked this in the sidebar yesterday, but if you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend Jim Salisbury's piece on how Roy Halladay came to be assigned the number 34. Great look at one of the behind the scenes elements of pro baseball. [CSN Philly]

You're probably familiar with the voice of Brian Seltzer. He's been giving Eagles updates on 950 ESPN/97.5 The Fanatic for a while now, as well as doing Penn basketball radio calls and even some XPN DJ'ing on *special* occasions. Now Seltz is the radio voice of the Reading Phillies, and keeping a new blog on the team. Best of luck to a good guy. [Brian Seltzer]

Jay Wright is in unfamiliar territory, with "hot seat" appearing in the same title as his name. I say that guy is Villanova basketball... He'll be there for years unless he chooses otherwise. [Daily News]

Simon Gagne said during the Olympic break that he wanted to score 15 goals this season. He's already hit that mark, and a healthy and productive Gags could be a major difference maker for the Flyers' regular season finish and playoff push. [Panotch]

Los Fightins are counting down some of the highlights of the Phillies' 2009 campaign. #11 is something we hope we see a lot more of in 2010—J.A. Happ shutouts. [The Fightins]

Shawn Andrews has changed his Twitter handle (@MrRandom73), but is he really tweeting up to his potential? [PhillyGameDay]

Kyle Kendrick had a fine start again last night. He allowed his first two runs of the spring, but looked good with his new changeup working well. However, Charlie Manuel still isn't ready to anoint him the fifth starter yet, writes David Murphy. [Daily News]

Looking for some sleeper starters to target in your fantasy baseball draft? Check out Razzball's list. Their Rankings have been a huge help to me the last two seasons (ahem, back-to-back championships). [Razzball]

In other Phillies media news, it appears another pair of Phils beats is leaving town. With Scott Lauber already off to cover the Red Sox, Mike Sielski and Andy Martino have now switched over to the dark side—covering the Mets. It feels like only days ago I was holding the door for Martino while sheepishly not introducing myself. Anyway, stealing our beats won't win you games in September, Mets. [The prescient twitter account of Ryan Lawrence]

The Sixers may have lost eh-gain last night, this time to the Knicks, but Andre Iguodala still tossed us a highlight-reel dunk bone.
